  • Seeing the needs after the gulf oil disaster, this elder in New Orleans organized a food drive to donate to Second Harvest to help those in New Orleans affected by the gulf oil disaster.
  • After losing everything in hurricane Katrina, this elder wanted her room atthe nursing home to feel more like home.  Thanks to the Harrah's HERO team, her room received a complete makeover.
  • Having new strings for his guitar meant that this elder could once again play music for his enjoyment as well as for others.
  • To be mobile was this elder's dream - an electric wheelchair made it a reality!

  • This dreamer just wanted snickers bars, when the GA State Univ. Students called the Mars company, Mars sent him several cases of them.  He was so excited, as you can see on his face and before we knew it, he was giving them all our to other residents as a gift from him.  Giving to others is another great need based dream.
  • This elder needed a watch to keep track of time.  Local volunteers fulfilled the dream.
  • This elder just wanted to be hugged by a child!
  • 85 year old Mildred Coty lived at Munster Med Inn when it flooded and she had to relocate to Lake County Nursing & Rehab.  Mildred has always been known for dressing well.  She talked about shopping on Michigan Avenue and how she loves to look her best.  Most of her clothing was lost in the flood.  She received several new outfits, jewelry and a handbag.  A new wardrobe always makes a girl smile!
