Caesars Foundation and Caesars Entertainment HERO Volunteers Change Lives this Holiday Season

(December 29, 2014) — On December 24-25, Caesars Foundation and more than 100 Caesars HERO Volunteers teamed with international nonprofit Second Wind Dreams® 13th annual Gifts of Light program to serve more than 1,000 elders nationwide through card exchanges, gift giving and holiday visits.

This non-denominational program serves nursing home residents in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New Orleans, Southern California and Joliet, IL. who will not receive gifts or visits during the holidays.

Robin Matos, Las Vegas Caesars Entertainment HERO volunteer of 5 year, values the importance of the program. “Gifts of Light is a way to say ‘you are not forgotten,’ ‘you are important’ and ‘you are loved’ to the elders that reside in the many elder care facilities in our nation,” she said.

Caesars Foundation is a private foundation funded by a percentage of operating income and gifts from Caesars Entertainment and its resort properties. The Foundation is the entity through which Caesars Entertainment funds programs and projects of $10,000 or more, as well as not-for-profit giving requirements. The Foundation offers employee-based community involvement (HERO) teams at each of their resorts to improve people's lives in the communities.
