It had been five years since Irma had the entire family together, so this was her dream. Her son Luis flew in from Tampa to be part of this celebration. On Sunday, July 10th Irma was crowned the Queen of Puerto Rico as she celebrated her half 75th birthday. She was served her favorite Puerto Rican foods: aroz, pasteles, pastalon, flan, and mucho mas. Two live musicians created a true fiesta in the Cedarbrook Fountain Hill pavilion, evoking Irma to dance to her favorite Puerto Rican songs. And yes, she still has the moves! She was beaming as her dream unfolded with four generations gathered together to honor her: six children, seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
