Donald Bardell from State College, PA
Recognition Day

Donald Bardell

Donald always has a smile in his eye and laughter on his lips. He likes to sing and dance when he is happy he will yodel to country music. Donald said he was from a large family so the simple things make him happy. The most precious memory he still has is of his little girls laughing. He says you never forget the sound of your children laughing or crying.

When talking with family we found out that Donald worked many jobs over the years until he went into the Army Core and learned how to survey. He then got a job on April 23, 1951 for Penn Dot. He worked for them until he retired on April 26, 1989. He really enjoyed this job and said the best part of the job was watching the new building going up.

With the help of Greg Simpson (Training Coordinator For  Penn Dot ) from District 9, Hollidaysburg, Pa 16648, we were able to honor Donald. Mr. Simpson said Donald was well known and respected for being truthful and kind. On April 9th 2014, Commonwealth Pennsylvania Department Of Transportation presented a Certificate of Service to Donald Bardell in recognition of 38 years of service.
