Second Wind Dream Makes a Big Splash for 98-year-old Woman
Niles – The Dream Team at Shepherd of the Valley - Niles is hitting the deck, the pool deck that is.
When most kids sneak out of the house it generally means, “They are up to no good.” When Dorothy Reghetti snuck out of the house, it was to go swimming.
Dorothy, a nursing resident at Shepherd of the Valley – Niles has always loved the water, so much so that she wanted to be a professional swimmer or diver when she was young. She and her siblings would ride their bike to Mosquito Lake every day to splash, float and swim. She said that getting an opportunity to be in the water would bring back the best childhood memories.
On September 9th, 2015, the Dream Team departed Shepherd of the Valley - Niles around 9:30 AM to the Central YMCA (17 N. Champion St. Youngstown) where Tara Bishop, Aquatic Director, got Dorothy back in the water. After her swimming lesson, she was treated to lunch at V2 (100 W. Federal St. Youngstown).
