At Azura Memory Care, we ask our residents what their “best day” would be. For Gracia, a former substitute teacher and board member of the Osseo-Fairchild School District in Wisconsin, it was to return to the classroom to help kids. Thanks to Second Wind and our anonymous donor who helped make this dream come true!
Gracia was greeted into a kindergarten classroom through song and a welcome banner made by the class. Gracia tapped her foot along in song, commenting on how darling they all are. The class then gathered around as she read Goodnight Moon, a book Gracia used to read to her own kids and grandkids, and decorated moon-shaped cookies. They all gathered around for one last story, Farmer Bungle Forgets, another favorite of Gracia’s children and grandchildren.
We would like to once again extend our gratitude to the exceptional, anonymous donor and Second Wind, for without their support we would not have been able to fulfill Gracia’s dream, and see her face beam with joy as she relived her best day.
