At a Service Providers meeting at which we were presenting a program on Second Wind Dreams it was suggested that we try a "Be A Santa to a Senior" program for needy free-living seniors. The Senior Citizens Center provided us with three home bound ladies and the Home Health Nurse provided us with another lady along with lists of items that each wanted for Christmas. We were able to provide about $75 worth of items to each of the four ladies. Items included: nightgowns, slippers, groceries, some holiday goodies, and cleaning supplies. The items were all bagged up in holiday gift bags with festive tissue paper and delivered by the respective agencies. We hope to expand the program next year. Both the Home Health Nurse and the Senior Center director reported that the individuals were speechless when they received their gifts-overwhelmed that they were remembered.
