John Pachel is a WWII vet and has always had an interest in racing and cars. In his younger years he had a race car, but as life happens priorities change and sometimes dreams change or fade. Although he had a family and a career his heart always enjoyed the race scene. HIs wish was to go to the races again. He made his wish known to us here at Elmcroft of Heritage Woods so on Saturday, March 29 we helped ensure his dream was fulfilled. He started the evening dining out with his family then the real excitement began once he arrived at the racetrack.Mobile International Speedway was kind enough to donate 5 tickets to the evening's event. During the course of the evening they repeatedly mentioned his name and welcomed him as a special guest. Prior to the evening's main event sponsored by 95 KSJ radio station, David Brennan, the primary morning DJ for the Radio Station welcomed and interviewed John and Aegina M. Jokela , Healthy Lifestyles Director of Elmcroft of Heritage Woods. They had an opportunity to share about his dream and Second Wind Dreams. John then turned and faced the racetrack and announced "Drivers start your engines!" What a great moment that was as he smiled, the crowds cheered and the engines revved!
