Marcella became part of the Elmcroft family on April 9, 2014. She has always liked to dress fashionably wild and now even fixes up her walker with bright colors. She says she mostly likes pink. She has become known as the BLING! BLING! resident here at Elmcroft. When talking with her to see what got her in to fashion she said her mother used to make her clothes. Then when she got older she was in 4H club and learned cooking and sewing. She liked fashion as a teenager and did what she could with little money. Later she worked at a shoe store as a sales person and that is where she got the love for different shoe fashions. After a while then she worked for Mulhouse Fashions in the clothing and shoe department then later moved to hats and fashion accessories. So when thinking of a dream for her I was thinking a glamour makeover was the thing to do. So with the help of a volunteer group at Penn state which is called the “Glamour Gals”, they came to Elmcroft on Sunday April 19th to make this dream come true. When we told Marcella today was her day to give her a makeover she was so excited and had a smile from ear to ear. We took before, during and after shots of her experience. After she was all made up we dressed her in a fancy gown and took pictures. She couldn’t wait for people to see her. She was also presented with pink and white carnations. While she was getting her makeover she shared stories with the girls and told them her nickname was “FOXY”. She talked about the high heeled shoes she use to wear and her fur coat. When asked how she felt after her makeover she said: We made her feel like a very special person and she liked that it was all about her. She said she was very thankful to all that made this day so special for her.
