When Marion, a resident at Azura Memory Care, was asked what her greatest day would be, she expressed her dream of attending a Broadway show and enjoy a little date with her daughters. This was something she had done numerous times prior to being diagnosed and thoroughly enjoyed. Hearing this, plans began immediately to help Marion relive one of her best days.
The local community was contacted in hopes of finding a theater company that would be able to provide accommodations for Marion’s dream. Sure enough, it was discovered that the Overture Center in Madison, WI would soon be hosting the production Momma Mia!, and that Nick’s Restaurant would be a perfect spot for her and her daughters to grab a bite to eat before the show, all while enjoying a mother-daughter date.
Unfortunately between with the limited available tickets at the Overture Center and Marion’s fading eyesight due to the disease process, she wouldn’t be able to properly view or enjoy the show. However, upon hearing this, the staff at the Overture Center quickly came to the rescue and found closer seats for Marion, her daughters, and a few caregivers completely free of charge. In addition, the Overture Center reached out to their partner, Broadway Across America, who contacted a few cast members. Upon hearing Marion’s dream and story, nine of the cast members took time to meet with Marion after the show.
A special thank you to those who helped Marion relive one of her best day with her daughters. Without the support of community members and organizations, Azura would not be able to continue creating and executing magical MOSAIC moments!
