This year for our Committed to Caring Challenge, we choose our youngest resident here at our facility, Mr Terry McTaggart, who is 45 years old and requires 24 hour around the clock care. This will be Terry's permanent home. Terry enjoys country music, nascar, pets, and watching TV. He loves being around other people. Terry was also voted our Valentine King this year. He loves helping staff. Terry only has an 8th grade education. He was a carpenter prior to his disability. When we approached Terry and asked what would his wish be, he told us to go to the Grand Ole Opry and to see Travis Tritt. Terry was chosen to receive his wish. As luck would have it Travis Tritt was appearing at the Opry on 2/28/2017.
We joined other Pruitt Health Hospice Blueridge, Pruitt Health Construction, Pruitt Health Therapy Services Jasper, and Pruitt Home Health and put all our funds together to make this wish come. Terry was absolutely thrilled. We started out with a send off dinner with band the day before. All residents participated in this event. On 2/28/2017, we went to the Grand Ole Opry. After the show, Terry had a back stage tour where Travis Tritt invited him into his dressing room. Terry was so excited. While there he presented Mr. Tritt with a event T shirt signed by Terry and staff. Terry's family also attended this event with him along with numerous staff. Terry had a terrific time and is still talking about it every day. Family was so grateful to staff and gave a very emotional thank you.
