Pat's entire life has been with all things music. In addition to teaching for years she served at an annual conference at the New York School of Music Association. Throughout her teaching career Pat has accompanied hundreds of young musicians to the (NYSSMA), graded solo competitions and regional music festivals. From the early 1950's, Pat was the principal piano player for the Glens Falls Operetta Club and often accompanied for soloists for the Lake George Opera of Lake George N.Y. In 1992, Pat was honored by the Glen Falls Operetta Club for her limitless contributions to the success of their musical productions. After retirement Pat continued playing for the Junior and Senior Choirs of Hudson Falls. She gave private piano lessons and also continued playing for the community well into her 70s. Pat has had opportunities to travel throughout Europe where her husband played flute in a band that toured many countries such as France, Austria, Italy and Belgium. She has many stories to tell about her experiences. A story she told the residents and staff is that after each performance the director would present her with a purple orchid. Here at Elmcroft we wanted to make her dream come true by going to a live theatre one more time. On June 30, 2012, State College Community Theater was presenting Guys and Dolls, and ElmCroft provided Pat the opportunity to attend. We also presented Pat with a purple orchid to follow the tradition of the original director.
