Bob served as a Gunner’s Mate for 22 ½ years in the Navy. His sea duty was on USS Halsey and USS Jason stationed in Cuba, Vietnam, Japan, and Guam. In a ceremony directed by EOC Gerald Lebeduik, USN Retired, Bob was honored with a certificate of appreciation for courageously serving his country. Holding the American flag, Boy Scout, Ian Sell, lead the procession outside. Bob, family members and residents were teary eyed as they walked around the courtyard, while Bill of Facilities laid down the five military pavers that Beth and Jim Casilio donated to honor all the veterans at Cedarbrook Nursing Home. Bob, his wife, Pauline and daughter, Karina listened to the Naval Glee Club music that Dave McQuillen provided, as they all enjoyed Bob’s favorite lunch, prepared by dining services. Their table was decorated with a beautiful patriotic bouquet created by Char.
