WWII Veteran receives his medals 66 yrs. later

George's son had always wanted is dad to receive the medals he had earning during WWII. With a little determination, and some assistance from Valerie; The Inn at Willow Falls Activity Director together they were able to make George's dream come true, and surprise him at the Willow Falls Memorial Celebration! Lt. Commander Favata, presented George with his medals. "Today is perhaps the most meaningful day of my career. I was asked to pin medals on a gentleman he earned in WWII and he never received.... With that said; Gunners Mate George, front and Center. Thank You Gunner." Tears filled George's eyes and with a shy smile he rose to join the fellow Navy man on the floor. To receive, a Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, Phillipine Liberation Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Ribbon. George beamed as the Lieutenant Commander pinned the medals to his shirt. As the ceremony ended, friends and neighbors eagerly approached George to congratulate him.
