Wayne has always been fascinated with trains. We knew he had lived by trains when he was little. Not knowing how it all really started till we talked to his daughter Beverley. Wayne's mother and father met when his father was riding a troops train. He had seen Wayne's mother in her yard and threw out a paper cup with his name and address on it in hopes she would write back to him. She wrote to him, he came to see her, and they were married six months later. Wayne's mother would also feed hobos from the train on her porch. So when wanting to do something special for him we decide to take him on a train ride. With the great support from Home instead senior care buying the tickets and Elmcroft getting him his bib overalls and engineer hat, he was ready to go. When home instead came to Elmcroft to present the tickets to him, he was all smiles. When we ask him what he thought about being able to go for a train ride he smiled and said he would remember it for the rest of his life. So on October 18th, Wayne went for a two hour ride from Bellefonte Pa. to the Sayers Dam and he enjoyed every minute of it.
