Valerie learned that many of her residents are huge Braves fans.On Monday, May 21, 2012 Charlie Leibrandt, former Atlanta Braves pitcher, visited Woodstock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Charlie shared with the resident's his time as an Atlanta Braves pitcher and his careers with other baseball organizations. He was with the Braves from 1990 until 1992. Bobby Cox, General Manager, designated Charlie as the starting pitcher for Game 1 of the World Series in 1991 against the Minnesota Twins.
While at WNRC we played ball. Of course Charlie was the pitcher. In honor of National Nursing Home Week, residents had to answer questions about the state of Georgia. If they answered correctly, Charlie would pitch to the resident and the resident had an opportunity to hit the ball and wheel to first base.
