Gifts of Light Volunteers

#GOL2017

Thank you for Volunteering for our Gifts of Light Program!

Because of you, Elders in Nursing Homes will not have to spend the Holidays alone

gifts of light volunteersWhich Residents participate in the program?

"Gifts Of Light" is a non-denominational program for:

  • Residents (including those with cognitive impairment) who have little or no family support,
  • That are in long-term care
  • Do not have personal visitors during the holidays.

What do we need?

  • Shopper Elves- Volunteers who will do the shopping for the items on the Elder’s wish list. We will send you their wish list. They usually ask for simple affordable items.
  • Delivery Elves- Volunteers who will deliver the gifts to Resident at the elder care community on the dates that are confirmed as delivery dates. Volunteers pick up the gifts and gift tags which include the Elders’ name along with their room and bed number.
  • Shopper and Delivery Elves-Voluteers will be assigned a Resident. They will be sent the Resident’s wish list, shop for that Elder, and then will deliver the items that they have personally chosen and purchased to that Resident.

Gifts of Light is currently active in the Atlanta, GA, Las Vegas, NV, Atlantic City, NJ and New Orleans, LA regions. If you live outside of these areas, you may volunteer by donating money, shipping gifts, or starting the program at a nursing home in your local community.
