Building Empathy: 25 Years and Beyond
A Message from P.K. Beville
Imagine that you live in an elder care community and you long for some new clothes, but you can't drive anymore, funds are limited, and truth is, you aren't sure you have the stamina to shop but you know how a new outfit feels.
Or imagine that you have dementia, and you are unable to communicate how you feel but you know you are alone and abandoned by your life. Everything is unfamiliar every minute of every day.
Or imagine that you have dementia, and you are unable to communicate how you feel but you know you are alone and abandoned by your life. Everything is unfamiliar every minute of every day.

For 25 Years Second Wind Dreams has been addressing these societal issues. No dream is too large or small. We are rooted in community support and have made thousands of dreams come true. Our organization, through the Virtual Dementia Tour, ensures that every caregiver we touch is imbued with a clear understanding of empathic care and people with dementia are honored and supported. From our trainings to our Dreams and everything in between we are committed to changing the perception of aging from one of marginalization and negativity to one of inclusion and hope.
We look forward to seeing you as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary all year!
