Director of Community Relations
Amy Safran
Amy Safran works with elder care communities, volunteers, and Corporate Partners to help fulfill dreams for elders through the Second Wind Dreams organization. Founded in 1997, the international non-profit serves over 600 eldercare communities around the world by making dreams come true on an average of 6 per day. Amy believes that dreams provide hope and joy for individuals living in long-term care. With a Social Worker background in skilled nursing facilities, she witnessed isolation and depression in the residents she served, many without visitors. And she met others who were simply struggling to transition into this new chapter of their lives. Amy counseled elders, as well as, family members, but always wished to offer more. She found the answer with Second Wind Dreams. As endless negativity surrounds the word “aging”, Amy joined the mission to change this perception and provide elders and their communities hope, support, and better overall care. |
Amy manages the Dreams program, Gifts of Light, and annual events such as International Second Wind Dreams Day. She works hand in hand with Corporate Partners like Caesars Foundation and leads Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities garnering funding and volunteer support. In addition, Amy manages sponsor relations, monthly newsletters and the company social media sites.
Amy demonstrates a passion for helping others and a dedication to her role with Second Wind Dreams and the people she serves.
